Let me start Day 2 sharing some of the delicious eats provided in the morning buffet :D
My fav food - Pumpkin, esp the Jap variation 'Kabocha' just steam it for 10mins or so and you will experience the taste of heaven in your mouth I think is a good substitute as a source for carbs |
Tamago! & various Japanese seasoned dishes - seaweed, buckroot etc. |
The secret to long life expectancy of Japanese - Natto, fermented soy beans
My tour guide, Momo, says that Japanese eats this every morning with wasabi and rice
Hmm...some people might find it 'smelly' but I personally quite liked it ^^
Hey, Asians eat durians and smelly tofu right?
I had it every morning during my stay in Japan
Added 3 years to my lifespan maybe? hahaha
the vegetables are simply fresh sweet and crisp. the freshest state it can ever be |
salmon is also served at every hotel's morning buffet - prob shows their abundance supply of salmon #envious |
First stop, Osaka Train Station to take the famous Bullet Train to Kyoto!
saw this in each toilet cubicle. apparently it plays the sound of flowing water because some ladies are not comfortable with others hearing them pee :X |
place to buy some snacks for the train rides! eating is allowed on the Bullet Train |
okay, enough food distraction back to the train ride.
and YAY we are here at Kyoto!
2nd stop: Kyomizu Temple, one of the oldest Temple in Japan
the crowd on a weekday |
Japanese girls in beautiful kimonos... :)
3 streams of water, each representing a blessing
Wisdom, Fortune and Love (from left of photo)
Momo refused to tell us which stream is which initially
and to only drink from one
I didn't plan and just went with the flow, whichever stream is unoccupied, I'll just drink from that
so....apparently I drank from Love....
okay...no comments haha no idea what to think about that
haven't exactly felt love yet for the past 19 years of my life...
hmm so maybe this is a hint from above?
haha hopefully you know maybe my time will come soon :)
cute little things along the street shops
the invasion of the miraculous vending machines
matcha tea & pickled cucumber god. fresh matcha tea is soooo good. where am I gonna find such good tea in Spore D: |
THIS IS LUNCH. mmmmmm. |
3rd stop: Nara Deer Park, deers are a sacred protected creature in Japan
a 'Nara' getting a head massage from a street vendor. just look at how blissful it looks ^^ |
Delicious melts-like-butter-in-your-mouth sweet potatoes
Dinner~
Went for a night stroll with mom after settling down into our hotel for the night
toured the convenience store - simply amazing daily necessities and the array of food :0 |
this drinks are kept HOT. |
When is our 7-11 gonna upgrade to this level? :O
and there is like one store at every corner of the road.
and gosh. I'm totally an anti-smoking activist
but... I shall end off this post with a photo that'll probably make some of my friends extremely happy
Save your money. Cherish your life.
For your Family & Friends. Quit smoking.

Ooo I visited Japan back in '05 when I was in an exchange program during poly.
ReplyDeleteWent with my homestay family to Nara and I really liked the park, that wooden building with the Buddha statue is wayyy bigger than in pictures right? ;)
I also tried natto, but really couldn't take the smell and tried hard not to barf in my mouth :x
Btw, in a store there I saw add-ons that turn your regular tandas into a high tech toilet *pew*pew*
