#45 NBS Pageant - Bash @ Zouk

My Pageant Experience

These 2 photos you see above from the shoot were taken on the 4th day of NBS FOC!
Pretty good for someone who didn't sleep the night before
Can't tell right ^^"

If you think that pageant will be all chills and laughter with good looking people
YOU ARE WRONG
me and my fellow pageant peeps #PLove
went through a whole week of bootcamp, sacrificing hari raya and NDP
just to prepare ourselves, all happening the week right before school started
we had hours long dance rehearsals, talent time preparations, runway classes
everyday for 5 DAYS~

Bootcamp Week @ Nanyang House
Bash @ Zouk! #MClanLove
Well, I must say that though bootcamp was really exhausting,
the seniors were there for us and accompanied us throughout the week as well
taking care of us, making sure we had our meals etc. so much love <3

Pageant consists of 2 Main Events i.e. 1) Bash 2) Dinner&Dance
Bash was held on the Saturday before school started
thus 1 day right after our bootcamp ended
Talk about beauty rest, this eye bags need some saving :<

Early Morning at Zouk! Never been here at this timing ever. Nice to see Zouk all clean and sparkly and bright for once.

Camwhores x)
At 7pm, the doors to Zouk opened and in come the NBS FOC people!
1st Walk
Voting time! For the Mr. and Ms Popularity titles
 Backstage Shots

w my buddy, JianZhong
w the 2012's Queen, Steph! she's from Morpheus of M Clan too :D
w ZhiWei, Morgan senior cum Ah Hai
w my pageant contestants
w all the lovely people (contestants, seniors, D&D committee) who made this whole journey truly enjoyable
I must confess that during bootcamp I asked myself a few times
"oh what did I get myself into?"
while my OG mates from NBS and Hall FOCs spent the week
meeting up, eating, steamboats....
I was stuck in pulau NTU w dance/talent rehearsals

However, I met a group of fun smart and not to mention, gorgeous people in exchange
Thank you D&D committee for all the effort put in the past few months just to make this day happen
Thank you Morgan for coming down to support me, and even making 2 banners :')

this will be it for now, will post on D&D another time~

#43 1st Driving-Practical Lesson

omw to my first lesson!
Finally started my practical.
Kinda regret not registering for btt and driving immediately after turning 18
but better late than never right?
Booked 11 classes over a span of the first 2 weeks of July

NBS camp will be held in the 3rd week, totally excited for it
May I not embarrass myself in front of my new schoolmates ><

Btw I strongly recommend you to try Daytona at arcades if you're gonna pick up driving
hahaha my instructor said that my experience w Daytona helps x)
He's a really nice guy and was friendly & helpful,
thumbs up to ubi driving centre!

"to drive is easy, to drive safely is hard" - as quoted from Mr. Lim
I really despise ill-mannered drivers on the road
Please don't speed unnecessarily, treat pedestrians with care,
AND USE YOUR SIGNAL LIGHTS DAMN IT

Don't risk any lives for your own short burst of adrenaline rush.

#42 Lunch at Harbour Cafe @ Trader's Hotel, Puteri Harbour, Johor Bahru

Short getaway to JB on Sunday with the Zhangs
(a family with very close ties to mine, since my grandma's generation)
Purpose for this trip is to celebrate the beginning of a new phase in university
for eldest daughters of both families
me & keer - i knew her since she was a baby (she's 1 year younger)
one of the most hardworking girl I know, studied really hard
and graduated from Hwa Chong with straight As for A levels
She's currently going to continue pursuing her dream, doing Architecture at SUTD
-uncle zhang smiling with glee at the back-

Harbour Cafe was having a promotion in the month of June
MYR45++ per pax (roughly SGD 20) for its lunch buffet
as it's Traders Hotel's first month of operations

Wide variety of yummy cold salads
Portobello Mushrooms, Grilled Peppers, Pumpkin, Feta Cheese, Chicken Ceasar etc.
The Thai Beehoon Salad was extremely well-received at the table

Fresh cold seafood - plump mussels & sweet meaty flower crabs
There was also a Japanese section at the side, serving white tuna as sashimi and various sushi
although I really hoped there was salmon :(
Maybe because it was lunch so.... but still I enjoyed the seafood & white tuna ^^

I must say that the indian food section is the best
Awesome savoury curries, naans and the TANDOORI CHICKEN IS YUMZ
really tender and sweet

Roasted Chicken

Dim Sum Section
Paus, har gaos, siew mais etc.
there's also a laksa/yong tau foo & asian corner right next to it

Mad love for this chocolate fondue machine
just look at the absolutely gorgeous flowing streams of white and dark chocolate
the dessert corner offered a wide selection of cakes, kuehs, ice cream

The staff at the restaurant were really friendly too
did not chase us off when the buffet ended at 2.30pm
& thus we continued to stay in our private room, chatting till 4

Much thanks to the parents from both families for giving us such a grand celebratory meal
and the big fat ang bao (奖学金)too :D
It was an enjoyable afternoon filled with laughter, dumb jokes, serious talks
spent with the family & Zhangs (we're really like 1 big family, just not related by blood)

How was your June?

July, be kind.

#41: Letting emotions take control

Extremely remorseful over something I did today
Felt as if I had let down the man who loves me the most
Can't even find the courage to seek for forgiveness but only to apologize
I won't do it again
Promise.

#40: Graduating from Poly, Going into University...

NEWSFLASH:

I had officially graduated from Singapore Polytechnic
with a Diploma in Banking & Finance (with Merit) as of 16 May 2013
me and my wonderful classmates of 2 years :)

okay so, I was supposed to wake up at 5am to start 'dressing up'
want to look my best for Graduation right?
But apparently my alarm failed me on my big day and I woke up at 7.15am
FML
and so I was in the biggest rush of 2013 that morning to leave the house at 8am

Thanks mommy for supporting everything I do
I can get real stubborn at times, indecisive and what not
Sorry mom for making you worry over my grades throughout my Secondary days
and stressing you out at times over my peculiar diet habits

Your girl is moving on into University, and planning to stay in Hall
I'll continue working hard in school, so don't worry about me my dear family!
especially Dad, he dotes on his daughters so much, never stingy on us and always trying to provide us the best of everything

I'm a really blessed girl to be in this family and though at many times I may fail to show my appreciation
but I'm deeply thankful for everything my family does for me

To my sister,
study hard and yes you can sleep in my room but DO NOT MAKE A MESS PLEASE
and you'll face the devil's punishment when I'm back during the weekends
Take care of your parents for me & lets try to keep our attitudes in check. ;)

so....which University has I picked?
*drumroll*

NTU - ACCOUNTANCY

I'm really excited for all the orientation camps to start
(hall camp, faculty camp especially)
though I heard that slots are limited!
I really hope to get into the camps :(

and yes, I also plan to say in Hall.
I'm not going to do "1hr there & 1hr back" trips every day
won't have enough energy left for class if I did :X
and then, I heard that Halls are randomly allocated
*fingers crossed* please give me an air-conditioned room pleaseeee
and may hall-life be one of my most treasured fun times in my life ever

sigh the anxiety and unsure-ness is killing me!
can't wait for camps but definitely not looking forward to classes
I JUST GRADUATED and now I have to start studying again in august
le sigh.

Lastly,
CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO'VE JUST GRADUATED
no matter which education institute you're from

Hopefully life will be more exciting for you/me from now on
as we get older,wiser, richer(?)..
I pray that most importantly, we also become happier :)

so see you NTU and my fellow to-be schoolmates in late July!
Please take care of me :)

Lots of Love, Kylie Y.

#39: Japan Trip Day 5: Tokyo DisneyLand! - Where Dreams come Alive

How can you say you've been to Japan without a trip to DISNEYLAND?

Just look at the crowd on a working/schooling Thursday
Momo says that we're lucky, today is considered to be one of the 'emptier' days already

And a trip to disneyland would not be complete without watching one of their shows right? :)

Disney's Journey - from B&W to colour
I still dont get how the flowers changed colours honestly :\
Classic Cast of Disney
Disney Princesses <3
Disney in Hollywood Glamour
Around Disneyland
For the people who don't wear watches ^^

and seriously, don't find me creepy please but
JAPANESE KIDS ARE SO ADORABLE (aww rosy cheeks)

real life anime-like hair in 3D :O

Other pretty things,

Some snacks around the themepark,

there are quite a number of popcorn carts around the park,
flavours include caramel, soy sauce&butter, curry, honey, chocolate etc.
each cart sells a particular flavour and you may also buy a Disney themed container along with it
some fans actually put in effort to collect all the different containers!

some ice-cream biscuits for you?
sugar-coated churros! apparently quite popular
there were also the common candy floss, turkey drumsticks selling around

as the Sun bids farewell,
I guess it's also our time to say bye-bye~
